Nuclear Exercise Stress Test
This test determines which parts of your heart are functioning normally and which are not. A small and harmless amount of radioactive substance is injected. A special camera takes detailed pictures of your heart while you’re at rest and after you’ve walked on a treadmill. If you are unable to walk on a treadmill, a medication (dobutamine) is used to increase your heart rate. This method is often used for women who may have trouble reaching their target heart rate on a treadmill. Diagnoses these conditions:
